THOMAS TULL Says WARCRAFT Postproduction To Take “20 Months” …
Legendary Pictures CEO, Thomas Tull, says Warcraft’s postproduction process will take almost 2 years!
We wanted to make sure that we got that right, but there are some sequences and some things that Duncan Jones has done that are truly on the cutting edge. You want to have plenty of time to make sure that we dial those in. So by the time they get home and set up, it’ll be a little less than two years. It’ll be about 20 months but we really want to take our time and get this right because the technology that’s employed is really some next generation stuff.
20 months is an insane amount of time for postproduction on any film, even a large action style film, which we all know Warcraft will be! It sounds like Duncan Jones is really going to push the envelope visually though and I would bet that the Blizzard Cinematic Team is involved as well with some of the CGI development.
The good news is, we know the movie is almost done filming, and we know that they have plenty of time to between now and March of 2016 to put all of the icing on the cake and then some! I can’t wait to see what they do with the FX in this film! It’s going to be EPIC!
